We found a family that lives near us, and we help each other get kids to and from school. On Monday and Wednesday we take James to school and on those days James and his mom bring our kids home. It's a great set up for all of us.
Last Wednesday, Tristan left his back pack in James's car. Tristan called the mom and asked her if it was there and it was and since she needed to go out she would drop it by.
She came to the door and I was visiting a bit with her. She told me that Tristan told her he was taking piano lessons. We have a full size electronic keyboard that has been floating around Chris's side of the family for a while now. Anyway, she told me that she had a piano that they didn't want anymore. Did we want it?
I went and looked at it after I took Tristan to said lesson, and decided to take it.
It's not in the best of shape and could use a good cleaning and tuning, but here it is! Notice the books, Tristan is already practicing more. There's not a whole lot of room in our house, but I have a feeling that this piano will be well loved. Thanks to James's family for their generosity!
Now it only needs a name......

Awesome. All we have is a a digital piano. It's about 10 years old. We bought it when Rick was in medical school. It's been all over the country. No way we could have done that with a real piano.
Maybe some day we'll get a "real" piano!
I hope Tristan loves playing on his new piano. SCORE.
That is awesome!!! I'm glad you decided to take it even though you don't have a lot of room. I think it will be well loved also. Tristan can play the piano and Chris can play his guitar. They can have a band. That is great! I'll have to think of a name and let you know.
Hmmm. . . Billy? Joel? I was thinking about that "Piano Man" song...
Ross suggested Tonks. I like it.
like Honky Tonk?
(and a little Harry Potter referenvce too eh?)
I thought Gertie... just because it was an old fashioned name for a old fashioned piano.
AND AWESOME! I had a piano like that ... we couldn't keep it because we kept moving and it took 8 men to move it. My mom sold it and then bought me and my brother keyboards. Good enough.
I'm so happy for you! There's a BIG difference between a piano and a keyboard. Tristan will enjoy it lots!
ILY :)
i like tonks to!!
