New Haircut!

I got a new haircut on Monday. My sil Becky's sister Wendy cut it for me. I really like it. What do you think?

We had a really fun night tonight. Our cousins came to play while their parents ran some errands. We had a lot of fun. We jumped. We played games--both on the computer and board games. We baked peanut butter bars and ate them. Barbies came out and little people entertained. Pictures were drawn on the sidewalk. The best part...hardly any tears were shed! I think I may have made some new friends. Now for the photos:

Sorry ladies, the little guy in this picture is married and has 3 kids. He finds it hard to believe that an elephant named Earl lives under my bed.

This little one usually cries when she sees me. I think that the chocolate miracle

was performed at a very early age and now we are BFF.
The whole crew (minus one who ate his treat and made sure everyone else was served and then promptly went back to the game he and Connor were playing).

But we did get a wave and a smile for Aunt Jess.

We had so much fun and the kids were really good. No fighting, no injuries and thank yous all around. Come back and play some other time!

School Puppet show

As part of Autsim Awareness month, our school put on a Puppet show. Each class prepared a great show to perform for our friends and family. It was really good. My kids all did great. Connor had the lead role in "the June Bug and the Flea". Tristan played a duck in "Peter and the Wolf". Anna was a clam while her teacher read "The Walrus and the Carpenter" from Alice in Wonderland.

There were a lot of people there to watch. We were able to perform at the church next door because they have a much bigger gymnasium to fit more people. We filled it up! It was awesome! Chris's parents came to watch and so did my Aunt Pam and Uncle Ed.

We have been preparing for this event for several weeks. We also held a silent auction and raffle. I think we made lots of money! The quilt I donated was sold for $130. I was hoping it would go for more, but oh well. I'm glad I was able to help.

I didn't take any pictures because I was helping, and also because I didn't want picutres of puppets. I like faces and smiles in my pictures.

It was a good, but very busy and eventful day.

Sickie

Connor came home early from school yesterday and is sick today. He woke up with a 102 degree fever! I gave him some ibuprophen and he slept a little longer and now he's watching tv. Tristan and Anna are at school, and I got to take the day off to hang out with Connor. I hope he gets feeling better soon and that nobody else gets it!

Weekend, just what I needed

Since my last post, my mood has turned around. I still haven't gotten a haircut, my skin is still gross, etc. etc. BUT! This weekend was gorgeous! We got to spend some time with friends outside in the sunshine. I got to sleep in on Saturday. I went to church and relaxed today. It was just what I needed.

Chris is out of town for most of the week. Wish me luck at the single parenthood. I have some pretty simple meals planned for this week. Why cook stuff the kids don't like when I can cook easy meals that they would rather eat? We had waffles for dinner tonight. It was great!

I am in such a foul mood

I need a haircut and color. I have no money, and no one to do it. I'm frustrated by Anna's teacher. My skin is gross. My house is dirty. Tristan is onery. I have to make a menu and go to the grocery store (the WORST chore evah). Anna needs her hair washed. blah blah blah

I know I have way more things to be thankful for. But right now I am not in the mood.

It is finished!

The quilt I have been working on for hours each day is finished! I found a wonderful lady to do the quilting for me. I contacted her before I was finished to get a quote and she told me to call her when I was finished. I called her Friday, and she returned my call about 9pm. I brought it over to her house and she told me that she would put it on and do it right away so I could display it before the auction.

Early Saturday morning she called me and told me it was finished! I went and picked it up and she told me to consider it her donation for the auction! I was floored! What a sweet and generous person she is. If you need any quilting done, let me recommend her! I will always be thankful for her kindness.

I took some pictures tonight, but they aren't the best. I'll post them, and then hopefully I can post better ones when I take them.

it was a crazy day

Without going into the gory details, I just want to say I'll be glad when this day is over. It actually has turned out to not be too bad, but at one time it was the worse day ever! I'm lucky to have such a great husband to keep me sane. Great friends help too.

Sometimes it takes not good things happening to make a bad situation better. Things are better now because of a bad thing happening, discussion made, and action taken. Does that even make sense? Oh well. I know what I mean.

And super duper thanks to a wonderful, kind, caring school administrator. I'm so glad she is at our school. She rocks!
