just a little funny

Background:
We have a cat door that allows Charlie, our cat, to go in and out as he pleases.  Charlie wears a magnet "key" so that only he can come inside.  He loves to clean out the tuna can, but it always get caught on the magnet.  Connor caught it on camera and we just had to share!

Eli's blessing day

What a special day for Eli.  He was given a name and a blessing today.  His dad gave him a beautiful blessing.  Standing in the circle was Chris,  Great-Grandpa Jack , Grandpa John, Uncle John , Uncle Paul , and Uncle Scott .  Also in Attendance was the families of the fore mentioned people, Grandpa R, the B family, the G family, the Giauque family, and Kim and Zoe . We had a luncheon afterwards at our house.  It was a really great day.  Eli was such a good baby and didn't even cry during the blessing and didn't get his beautiful tuxedo dirty.  The tuxedo belongs to Mom's cousin and has been used for her 3 boys and Tristan and Connor.  What a handsome little baby! And what a good day.  We really should have people over more often.

2.  Anna never holds a grudge.  She will get mad, but it doesn't last very long.
3.Anna loves to give and receive hugs!
4. Anna is a good friend and always makes the people around her feel special.
5.Anna is not afraid to try  new things.  She is very adventurous.
6. Anna is the on person in our family with brown eyes.  It makes her original!
7. Anna is a great big sister.  It took a long time for this to happen, so she had lots of time to get ready.
8.  Anna has a great laugh!  She is very fun to be with.

Eli, 2 weeks

Took Eli to his 2 week check up on Tuesday. Here are his stats:
Weight: 8 pounds 8 ounces 42%
height: 21 1/4 inches 71%
He has almost gained a whole pound and grew 3/4 of an inch! He is growing so fast! The doctor kept telling me how cute he thinks Eli is. Then he said, "And I don't say that about every baby. Not even my own!" Eli's umbilical cord stump feel off last week, but it was still oozy, so the doctor cauterized it. He put this stick with some stuff on it inside and rubbed it all around. Turned it a grey color. I'm not sure if it helped or not because it is still a bit oozy and now the skin looks a bit raw. If it's not looking better tomorrow I'll call and ask what to do.

I call this the "kissy face" Anna calls it the "sour face". It's just too too cute!

This week has been interesting. Chris had to go back to work, so now it's the real world! Getting kids where they need to go and making sure Eli is fed and happy is about all I'm successful in accomplishing, but we are getting there. I know that soon it will all be a new normal, but until then we are happy that there is food to eat and most of the clothes are clean.

I wish I knew how to put the movie itself in the post, but it's worth it to take the time to watch this!

Tristan started school too!

This is Tristan on his first day of school. He started on August 23rd (Eli's birthday). He could have gone to school in his pj's if he wanted to! Tristan is currently attending Utah Virtual Academy. He gets to do school at home! This is our 2nd year of UTVA K12 program and it is really working well for Tristan. Can you believe he's in 9th grade now and in High School? I can't either. He also started early morning seminary, he has to be there at 7:00am. Our mornings are very busy getting kids where they need to be, but isn't that what parents are for?

One week old!

Ok, I know Eli is older than one week, but these were taken when he was one week. I don't spend much time updating my blog lately. One reason is because Tristan is using the family computer to do his school during the day and the other reason is because I have a sweet baby to hold and love on all day. I'll take the baby over blogging any day!

Ahhhhh choooooo! then followed by hiccups! Almost every time!
Eli is such a good baby! He only fusses when he's hungry and cries when he is naked. He is getting better about diaper changes, and doesn't cry with them anymore. He likes to be held, but doesn't really know much else since he is held most of the time. Chris took some really nice pictures yesterday so hopefully they will be put on the blog sometime soon. Oh and the best news of all is that Connor is loving his brother and surprisingly holds him more than any of the other kids. I'll post some pictures of that as well. One of these days.....
