5. Getting a new sewing machine so I can do more quilting (and maybe figure out how to read a pattern so I can make my apron that I cut out over a year ago.)

Cake and ice cream and presents...Oh My!

We have a family tradition of inviting all the members of our family'

who live close by, over to have cake and ice cream on our birthdays.

We had Grandma and Grandpa Forbes. John, Yvonne, Emma, Sam, Zeke, and Kyra. Lisa, Scott, Alex, and Cassie. It was a good time. The cousins love to get together and run around and play. Anna got some great gifts, including: a barbie house, some clothes and a jacket from mom and dad (and a trip to the circus of course), a puzzle from Connor, a set of dry erase markers from Tristan, a bead kit from Grandma and Grandpa, and lots of fun toys from her cousins! She had white cupcakes with strawberry frosting and orange sherbert and vanilla ice cream. It was a really fun night!

I have a feeling she'll be having some more fun this weekend with the Robison family. All the kids are going to visit while Chris and I go to New York! Just wait for that post, I'm sure I'll have lots to say about it!

The Greatest Show on Earth!

We celebrated Anna's 7th birthday by going to the circus. She has been asking to go since we moved up here! We had a

really good time! She said she liked the tigers and the motorcycles best. I liked the elephants. We had seats in the nose bleed section, but still saw what we needed to see (it's pretty weird to be above the trapeze). We were very happy that Chris got to come with us. He's been working a ton, and even turned down a job so he could be there. That was great for all of us!

Memories........

I can't believe this was 7 years ago! Chris took this picture of us (along with some other really great pictures that we still haven't gotten around to printing) shortly before Anna was born. Look how little Tristan and Connor are! Tristan was just barely 5 and Connor was 2 1/2.

I will get some pictures posted from Anna's birthday celebration tomorrow after we finish celebrating!

My dream came true......

Seven years ago, I became a mother to a daughter. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Happy Birthday my sweet little Dolly. I love you more than you will ever know.

Success!

I got really brave this week and decided to try the cooking of the beans. My dad gave us a bag of anazazi beans so we wanted to try them. I put them in the water and stood there and watched until they boiled and then turned the heat down and let them simmer for 2 minutes. I set the timer and stood there to watch. It went well. They soaked all night and then I put them in the crock pot with the rest of the ingredients the next morning.

It was so nice when I realized on my way home from work, that dinner was already cooking! The soup turned out so yummy. I think Tristan had 3 bowls! And now I have more confidence with the cooking of the beans!

So where was Chris while we played at the carnival? He was working hard helping his brother put new siding on his house.

I forgot to take a before picture. But here is the after picture. Looks so good! They aren't quite finished yet, but they got a lot done. I wonder what color they will paint it?
