Connor and Anna start school

They were so excited to go back to school. Connor started 6th grade, which is middle school. He has a locker and a whole schedule of different classes. He will learn a lot. He didn't want us to walk him to class. My little boy is growing up. The reason he was most excited about going back to school is that " now I will FINALLY have something to do!"

Anna started 3rd grade. This is the first year of her academic career that she doesn't have a first year teacher. I'm happy about that. She said that none of her friends from last year are in her class but that just gives her a chance to make more friends!

Tristan starts school on Monday.

6 days till D-day. Sooner? We shall see.

Sorry this is turning into all baby all the time. But that's pretty much how my life is right now.

Here I am 39 weeks and one day pregnant. My due date is in 6 days. Chris has been working in Mexico City since Tuesday. My last doctor's appointment was the Monday before he left and I was dilated to 4cm. I was under strict orders to take it easy! I pretty much sat on the couch for the last 5 days. The kids have been great. Helping around the house and doing pretty much everything I've asked them to do. I've been fervently praying that the baby will wait until Chris gets home to come. I'm pretty sure that my prayers have been answered. Chris gets home tonight. The baby has permission to be born anytime after his Daddy gets home. My next appointment is tomorrow morning.

While I've been "taking it easy" I worked on some projects. I started and finished a baby afghan. I also continued working on the cross stitch sampler for the baby. I have also been reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". I've had good visits with friends and family (thanks Becky for lunch and the cupcakes. You will be proud to know that I only ate half of a half and saved one for Chris). I have also watched ridiculous amount of television.

As soon as Chris gets here I am planning on not taking it easy anymore. I want to go for a good long walk. I want to vacuum the whole house and maybe even the van. I am so ready for the baby to be born. I can't wait to meet him and kiss him and love him. I'm so excited for a new little spirit to be in our home.

So the doctor says.....

I'm probably going to have a baby soon.

Yep. I'm pregnant. Ha ha.

I had my appointment today and I am 3cm dilated. Guess that means all those Braxton Hicks contractions I've been having are doing what they are supposed to. Baby needs to wait 13 more days to be born so his daddy will be here for the delivery. Chris will be working out of town from the 10th to the 15th, so baby can't come then. That's all there is to it.

Today we went and had a tour of the maternity ward at the hospital and got pre-admitted. There were 6 babies born yesterday! So now all we have to do is get to the hospital and have a baby. Apparently that is something that is going to be happening soon. Am I ready for this? Well, ready or not, here he comes!!!

my how time flies.....

Only 4 more weeks to go! I can't believe I'll have a new baby boy sometime in the next four weeks. I'm getting really excited.

The pregnancy is still going well. We moved yesterday (more on that in another post. Or two) and everyone took really good care of me and made sure I was resting and sitting down and not working too hard. But still by the end of the day, my feet looked like they belonged to Fred Flintstone and I was sooooooooooo hot. So hot. Moving in July is hard enough. Moving in July when one is 36 weeks pregnant is quite the feat! But I am so thankful for everyone who helped us out and who took care of me so that I can keep on being pregnant a little while longer.

Our name list is getting narrowed down so there is a big possibility that this child will be named. It probably won't be revealed until he is born. We want to see him before we decide. Four weeks to go....

I have a small crush....

On my new floor! It is so pretty!
But nothing compares to how I feel about the guy making the floor look this good. I love this man! He is making this house a home for our family, what's not to love about that?

the skinny

I have alluded to a new house and a move in my last couple of posts. I figured that maybe some of you might want to know what's going on.

We bought ourselves a house! It's not far from where we live now, just 5 minutes away. It's much bigger than the house we live in now. 4 bedroom 2.5 baths. There is a small unfinished basement where we will build a room for Tristan and an office for Chris. Maybe even a craft area for me.

The house is in rough shape (understatement). The people who lived there before were, apparently, very unhappy violent people. The doors mostly all have holes, as do the walls, the carpet is an undetermined color because is it so dirty. Missing shingles, broken raingutter, etc. So there is lots to do to get it ready for us to move in.

We closed on Monday, got possession of the house yesterday and started "demo" today. I took the workers some lunch. (workers are: Chris, Tristan, Connor, Grant, and a few guys Chris hired from church). They already had all the carpet out, all the broken doors out, all the trim taken off, they were starting to take out the linoleum and the kitchen cabinets(we are going to use the same cabinets for now, but they are being taken out so Chris can tile the kitchen). They are working hard and getting things done!

I'm so excited for the finished result. With new clean paint, new flooring, and a whole lot of soap and water this will soon be home to us! I know you want to see pictures, and I will post some, but it might take me awhile. My blog posting will be very sporadic over the next little while. While Chris and the boys are working on the house, Anna and I are the errand girls. We are also the packers for the move and the cleaners. We will definitely be busy over the next few weeks.

Our goal for moving in is July 17th. I'll be 35 weeks pregnant. Wish me luck. Lots and lots of luck!
